"The Shine Of Her Cold Eyes" ist eine
Auskopplung aus dem Balladenzyklus "Zenith Is Decline",
der erstaunlichen Songsammlung des The Fair Sex Sängers, Myk
Jung.
Hier offenbart er eine bislang unbekannte Seite seines Schaffens.
Von Melancholie durchtränkte, dunkle, stille Songjuwelen.
Auf das Titelstück, Myks persönlichen Favoritensong des
Albums, folgt eine gestraffte Version des melodramatischen "Ten
Thousand Centuries".
Das minimalistisch angelegte Akustik-Gitarrenstück "Adrift",
bislang unveröffentlicht, wirkt wie urbaner Protestsong gegen
die von Menschenhand verwirkte Welt an sich. "Staggering"
ist eine ungewöhnliche Neukonstruktion: auf dem Sockel der
instrumentalen Kollage "Flight V" montierte Myk einen
Gesang, der dem Stück eine völlig neue, bluesige Atmosphäre
verleiht.
Den Abschluss von "The Shine Of Her Cold Eyes" bildet
eine neue Version von "The Name Of Endless Yearning",
in der feinsinnig ausgestaltete Zupf-Gitarren den wall of sound
ersetzen.
"The Shine Of Her Cold Eyes" is
an extract of and an addition to the album "Zenith Is Decline",
a composure of ballads, created by Myk Jung, the voice of The Fair
Sex. With this work he introduces a yet unknown side of his
creativity: fragile song-jewels ruled by a deep melancholia. The
titletrack of the MCD is Myk's favorite song of the whole collection.
This touching song is followed up by a tightened version of the
dramatic "Ten Thousand Centuries", (a hommage on Elven-stories
written by Tolkien). The very minimalistic, reduced acoustic-guitar-song
"Adrift", yet unreleased, will seem like an urban protest
song against the world itsself, marred by mankind. "Staggering"
presents an unusual new-construction/ re-shaping: onto the basis
of the instrumental "Flight V" Myk installed a totally
new-invented vocalpart that lends the song a kind of bluesy note.
The final track, "The Name Of Endless Yearning" is new
version of the song, in which frail accoustic guitars replace the
initial wall of sound.
